Excel or software for your webcam studio: when to switch
Excel works for starting a webcam studio, but it stops working when payroll depends on several sheets, several platforms and several people. Management software replaces those sheets with one system where shifts, earnings, deductions and payroll connect on their own.

When does Excel stop working?
When the spreadsheet grows faster than the studio's order. These are the most common signs:
- Only one person understands the payroll sheet.
- Each platform's tokens are copied by hand from other files.
- Fines and store deductions are written on paper or in the chat.
- There's no way to know who changed a figure.
- Models ask every period how their payout was calculated.
What changes with software?
| Task | In Excel | In software |
|---|---|---|
| Recording earnings | Sheets per platform that get copied | Sheet by shift, model and platform |
| Tracking attendance | Notebook or group chat | Monitor's sheet with automatic fines |
| Applying the scale | Formulas that break | Scale by model type, the same for everyone |
| Converting at the rate | Rate looked up every time | Cut-off rate locked per period |
| Deducting | Forgotten or charged twice | Each deduction lands in its period |
| Explaining the payout | Screenshots over chat | Model dashboard with her payout |
How do you switch without losing control?
Run one pay period in parallel: payroll in Excel as usual, and the same period in the system. Compare results model by model; the differences often reveal errors that were already in the spreadsheet. When the figures match, close the next period in the system only.
